• 15 Joan Rivers videos that prove the iconic comedian could be funny anywhere

Joan RiversEarlier today the comedy world was devastated to hear Joan Rivers had died at the age of 81, one week after she went into cardiac arrest during throat surgery at an outpatient clinic in New York. She was rushed to Mount Sinai Hospital in New York where she was placed into a medically induced coma and kept on life support. One day after moving Rivers to a private room, her daughter Melissa Rivers announced her mother had passed away.

And while her fellow comedians have expressed their grief and their respect on social media, we wanted to express our extreme gratefulness for her life and for her career and what she did for comedy. To that end, we’ve collected 15 videos of Joan Rivers in a variety of settings. In the below selections we find the iconic comedian performing stand-up on classic programs like The Carol Burnett Show and The Ed Sullivan Show, appearances on Late Show with David Letterman and chatting with the likes of Johnny Carson and Jimmy Fallon and much more (Wrestlemania, anyone?). Watch them all below and let’s remember Joan Rivers for what she was— one of the most important comedians of all time. Enjoy.
