• Aggressively boring Taylor Swift implies ‘there’s a special place in hell’ for Tina Fey and Amy Poehler

UPDATE (3/6/13): 9:32 pm EST — Tina Fey told Entertainment Tonight the following: “If anyone was going to get mad at us, I thought it would be James Cameron. I did not see that one coming. It was a joke. It was a lighthearted joke.”

UPDATE: 4:52 pm EST — Amy Poehler had this to stay to the Hollywood Reporter: “Aw, I feel bad if she was upset. I am a feminist and she is a young and talented girl. That being said, I do agree I am going to hell. But for other reasons. Mostly boring tax stuff.”

In a new cover story in Vanity Fair, aggressively boring pop star Taylor Swift unleashes her fury on Tina Fey and Amy Poehler the only way she knows how– by quoting Katie Couric, who was quoting former United States Secretary of State Madeleine Albright.

You’ll likely remember that Fey and Poehler cracked a joke about Swift while hosting the Golden Globes in January; the quip was in reference to the singer’s well-documented love life, wherein she dates everyone and then breaks up with them and then writes terrible songs about how awful her boyfriends were. Since Michael J. Fox’s son, Sam, was Mr. Golden Globe for the evening, Fey directed a joke toward Swift warning her to “stay away from Michael J. Fox’s son.”

“You know, Katie Couric is one of my favorite people,” Swift tells Vanity Fair about the Globes joke, “because she said to me she had heard a quote that she loved, that said, ‘There’s a special place in hell for women who don’t help other women.’”

So let’s get this straight. Fey and Poehler should go to hell for making the most obvious, least offensive joke imaginable about your meaningless love life? Makes sense. You go, girl!
