Aisha Tyler, Marc Maron headline first annual Maui Comedy Festival

Marc MaronComedy festivals seem to be popping up all over the place. There just isn’t enough comedy to be had! Now the laughs are heading deep into the Pacific Ocean to Hawaii in the fall for the first annual Maui Comedy Festival! The three-day, multi-venue event will bring dozens of America’s funniest touring comedians to the town of Lahaina on one of Hawaii’s more popular islands. Hannibal Buress, Reggie Watts, Tig Notaro, Marc Maron and Aisha Tyler are all slated to perform. Live television tapings will round out the festival. The Green Room with Paul Provenza and recently-renewed Comedy Central web series This Is Not Happening hosted by Ari Shaffir will tape exciting live episodes. Archer’s very busy Aisha Tyler will make time for a live podcast recording of her hit audio show Girl on Guy with Aisha Tyler. Jay Larson and Ryan Sickler also will do a live episode of The Crabfeast podcast. The festival will take place in a variety of venues from Fleetwood Mac drummer’s restaurant Fleetwood’s to the Maui Theater. “Maui is known for not just our natural beauty and world class hotels, but also first-rate entertainment,” said Maui Mayor Alan Arakawa. VIP and early-bird passes are now on sale for $199 and $399. Both give full access to all of the festival’s 20+ shows. Individual tickets will go on sale Aug. 15.
