Andrew ‘Dice’ Clay filming first comedy special in 15 years

Andrew Dice Clay continues his steady years-long comeback this month. The record-setting comedian is set to shoot a special for Showtime at the Arcada Theatre in St. Charles, Il, his first new special in 15 years. Clay will film the special during two shows on Aug. 25, one at 7 and another at 9:30 pm. Tickets are available here.

It appears, however, St. Charles, Il wasn’t Dice’s first choice for venues. “Due ta fuckin politics in the entertainment industry I had ta change venues for my SHOWTIME Comedy Special . It will NOT be in Boston. It will be in Chicago,” he tweeted.

The self-proclaimed Undisputed Heavyweight King of Comedy, who sold out theaters regularly in the 80s and early 90s (to this day he remains the only comedian to sell out Madison Square Garden two nights in a row) and has eight comedy CDs under his belt, has been on a bit of a hot streak lately. He had a well-received stint on the most recent (and final) season of Entourage, where he played a version of himself. In June, it was announced that he was cast in an upcoming Woody Allen comedy, starring alongside Louis C.K. and Alec Baldwin, among others. There’s a book and documentary about Clay in the works, as well.
