• Tuesday stand-up: Chelsea Peretti

This video made me realize something, when a fat guy takes the stage, I DO feel overly prepared to laugh. Chelsea Peretti shares some observations about weight and also about how a typical comedy audience responds to a fat guy jiggling around. I enjoyed this clip and I’m fairly confident most of you will as well. Chelsea Peretti at the Laugh Factory from the Axe Twisted Humor Tour – watch

Laura Kightlinger, Jay Johnston star in Atom.com's disturbing (funny?) 'American Heroine'

Laura Kightlinger and Jay Johnston (The Sarah Silverman Program, Mr. Show) have teamed up with Atom.com on a short film called American Heroine. The film takes the viewer to some very uncomfortable places– places that are funny in the context of the story but also makes me realize that A&E needs to make Intervention a daily program. The story features Kightlinger as a heroine junkie who works as a “Dear

    Friday stand-up: Louis C.K.

    Thursday stand-up: Kyle Cease

Seems like it’s been a while since a blog post has gone up on the world wide web featuring Kyle Cease that didn’t somehow praise or condemn his Stand-up Bootcamp. Something I’ve always admired about Cease is how quickly he adapts to the heckling and instantly builds a short set around

    Monday stand-up video: Zach Galifianakis

Experiencing a heckler can either be a horribly traumatizing experience for a comic to endure or an opportunity to add a new layer funny for your audience to enjoy. I tend to see it as the first thing I mentioned, but in this video I found, it is evident that Zach Galifianakis isn’t too bothered. I love the idea of not merely berating the heckler, but actively making that person part of your

    Thursday stand-up video: 'The A-List'

When I was very little, I would frequently sleep over at my Grandma’s house Not just because she waited on me hand and foot but because she had CABLE. More importantly, she had Comedy Central. I would stay up very late watching shows like Who’s Line is it Anyway and The A-List. Of those A-List episodes long ago, I distinctively remember seeing Marc Maron, Dana Gould, Lewis Black, Ellen DeGeneres,
