Now, this is super exciting. Rumor has it that your favorite coked-up comedy uncles, Bob Odenkirk and David Cross, will be bringing a powerhouse backup team with them when their new Netflix series launches. The title of the forthcoming show is what we all wish we were: With Bob and David. Well, we may not get to partake directly in the action, but a number of equally as awesome comedians will be on hand to keep the momentum going. (Not that there was really any danger of that dying out on its own).
Playing dishonorably discharged Navy SEAL veterans – though who really knows just how sincere this premise is – Odenkirk and Cross have recruited Paul F. Tompkins, Brian Posehn, Jay Johnston, and several others who have worked with the offbeat duo in the past. The series was green-lit by Netflix earlier in the month, and is set to include four half-hour episodes, and one hour-long “making of” special. There’s no word yet on a potential release date, but in the meantime, fans can catch Odenkirk’s Breaking Bad prequel Better Call Saul on AMC, and Cross currently on Netflix, where Arrested Development resides with a permanent place upon the Olympus throne of resurrected TV shows. (You can buy full episodes of Mr. Show on Google Play, but it would be nice to see the seminal ’90s sketch series make its way over to HBO Go, too).
