Cartoon Network has announced it is opening a hotel, because why not. The family destination will be branded with the network’s most popular animated series like Adventure Time and The Powerpuff Girls. The hotel is being built on 9 acres of land in Lancaster, Pennsylvania and is set to open in 2019. Cartoon Network has already released a list of attractions that should get kids excited.
The Cartoon Network Hotel was born from a partnership between Cartoon Network and Palace Entertainment, which owns the Dutch Wonderland Family Amusement Park in Lancaster. The companies have confirmed that the hotel will feature “165 rooms, an interactive lobby, an outdoor amphitheater, a water play zone and more. The Cartoon Network Hotel will have unique and immersive experiences around every corner.”
A statement from the network boasts, “You’ve never stayed at a hotel where cartoon characters are the employees!” From the front lobby to the kitchen, guests will see their favorite (or their kids’ favorite) characters “from Adventure Time, We Bare Bears, The Powerpuff Girls and Ben 10 working to make your stay that much more special…and hilarious.” A design for the facade of the hotel has been released, but no word on what the employees playing these characters will look like.
Guests will also be able to view cartoons before their release date at the hotel’s outdoor amphitheater and movie screen.
There will be plenty of fun for kids including an indoor pool, arcade, and kid zone, but if parents are worried, the Network has also confirmed that there will be a wine bar to ease the stress of family vacations.
