• Charlie Murphy, Rob Stapleton release trailer for Comics Turnt Up, new comedy reality series (Video)

Comics Turnt UpCharlie Murphy and comedian/producer Rob Stapleton are launching a new reality series called Comics Turnt Up, billing it as “the realest reality show on TV.” Though the nearly four minute trailer recently uploaded to YouTube is filled with backstage fights, girlfriend drama and tense conversations about the business of comedy, there’s no hint as to where or when “on TV” Comics Turnt Up will live.

Starring comedians Charlie Murphy, Rip Michaels, Pretty Ricky Fontaine, Capone, TJ Kirkland, Gerald Kelly and more, Comics Turnt Up seems bent on showing the seedy side of the world of stand-up comedy. In the trailer, we hear Murphy telling a story about a gun-wielding promoter, a comedian getting slapped due to his interactions with comedy groupies and a pair of comics getting physical over alleged joke stealing.

Once we find out where Comics Turnt Up lands, we’ll be sure to let you know. The trailer says the series comes from the folks that brought us Hollywood Exes on VH1, so perhaps the cable network is in talks for Comics Turnt Up as well. In the meantime, check out the trailer below and tell us what you think!
