• Chelsea Handler posts topless Instagram photo, slams sexism (NSFW)

Chelsea Handler, in order to poke fun at a now classic and bizarre photo of Russian President Vladimir Putin, has posted a topless Instagram photo of herself atop a horse. “Taking this down is sexist. I have every right to prove I have a better body than Putin,” Handler wrote alongside her photo.  Nudity goes against Instagram posting rules, which is why Instagram pulled her first attempt at this photo. “If a man posts a photo of his nipples, it’s ok, but not a woman? Are we in 1825?” Handler responded. What you see below is the second attempt. It’ll be interesting to see how quickly the social media service either removes the photo or bans Chelsea Handler altogether. Handler’s 994,000 Instagram followers would be none too pleased.

This isn’t the first time Handler has posed topless on Instagram, though it is the first time she hasn’t covered herself up. In August she posted a photo of her topless and compared herself to a Kardashian. This was around the time she was exiting her post at Chelsea Lately. “If I was going to continue working in this industry, I knew I had to do something outside the box to keep myself interested,” Handler had said. “I wanted to sit with the cool kids at lunch so I approached Netflix to make sure they were as cool as I thought they were, and when I confirmed my suspicions, like with any other future lover, I made my move. I’m more excited than I’ve been in awhile, and the team at Netflix is the most forward thinking, alert group I’ve sat down with in ages. No offense to the Shahs Of Sunset.”

Handler has just finished a huge press tour to promote her newest one-hour stand-up comedy special Uganda Be Kidding Me Live, which is streaming exclusively on Netflix. The special is part of a much larger deal with Netflix that will find Handler, the former Chelsea Lately host, hosting a new talk show of sorts and producing and starring in additional comedy specials.

UPDATE: Instagram pulled the above photo and Handler has re-posted it once again– this time with the message, “If Instagram takes this down again, you’re saying Vladimir Putin Has more 1st amendment rights than me. Talk to your bosses.”
