The true King of all media Chris Hardwick (sorry, Howard, but it’s true) has inked a deal with Comedy Central to host a late-night talk show that would follow The Daily Show with Jon Stewart and The Colbert Report four nights a week. Co-produced by Funny Or Die and – it gets even better – executive produced by powerhouse writing team Thomas Lennon and Robert Ben Garant (Reno 911!, Night at the Museum), the as-yet-untitled show will launch this fall in the almost-daily midnight time slot, according to Deadline.
For the last few years, Hardwick has established himself as a multi-talented comedian and entrepreneur. In addition to the recent release of his own hour-long comedy special and album Mandroid for Comedy Central, Hardwick is the founder of Nerdist Industries (acquired by Legendary Pictures in 2010), under which he manages an entire podcast network that includes his own, the Nerdist Podcast—as well as a an active website and online community, a premium YouTube channel and Nerdist News (formerly GeekChicDaily).
One of the shows from the Nerdist YouTube channel, All-Star Celebrity Bowling, is being developed for a series on AMC, on which Hardwick hosts The Talking Dead, the popular chat show that follows zombie series The Walking Dead.
