• Comedy Central announces web series development slate; renews Ari Shaffir’s online storytelling show

Comedy Central has always been excellent at keeping up with the times and not fighting the demand for free online content. Its online platform, CC: Studios, has announced its current development slate for its comedy web series. Among the projects is Strong Island, a show about two brothers who live with their mother on Long Island. It stars Artemis Pebdani from It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia and Kevin “Dot Com” Brown from 30 Rock.

Also given the greenlight are Biatches, an animated program about a group of bad girls who were kicked out of middle school; Idiotsitter, abut a young woman who must look after a wealthy “womanchild” under house arrest; The Midnight Beast, centering on a hip-hop comedy trio; Pixelheads, an animated sketch show about video games; and an untitled interview series from Kurt Braunohler.

CC: Studios ordered second seasons of Bro-Dependent, Ari Shaffir’s This is Not Happening, and The Walsh Brothers’ Great & Secret Comedy Show. These shows’ first seasons, along with Dan St. Germain’s In Security, can be streamed on CC: Studios’ website.
