• Comedy Central signs Chris Distefano to exclusive deal because they just can’t get enough

Comedian Chris Distefano has signed an exclusive overall deal with Comedy Central that will have the Guy Code star creating content across multiple platforms for the network. The deal also includes on-air and off-air services and first look at any content created or developed for any platform. Basically: Comedy Central wants as much Distefano as they can handle. In fact, he already has some projects in the works including a new stand-up special, an unscripted series, an animated series, and a continuation of the already-running interstitial series Stupid Questions With Chris Distefano.

“Chris strikes the perfect balance of Brooklyn-born edge and nice-guy charm,” said Sarah Babineau and Jonas Larsen, Executive Vice Presidents and Co-Heads of Talent and Development at Comedy Central. “He’s razor-sharp, magnetic, and relatable — key to success on all platforms — so we couldn’t be more excited to enter into this deal with him.”

Outside of the agreement, Distefano already has in production a new weekly podcast that was greenlit straight to series on Comedy Central’s Global Podcast Network.

Distefano is a New York-based actor and comedian that can be seen co-hosting Ultimate Beastmaster on Netflix and goofing around on his web series Bay Ridge Boys with comedian Yannis Pappas. He recently shot a pilot for Amazon pilot called Making Friends and starred on the IFC comedy Benders, which only ran for one season. Chris is probably best known for being a talking head on MTV2’s Guy Code and Girl Code, as well as truTV’s Comedy Knockout.

“I couldn’t be happier and more excited to be working with Comedy Central! They are truly like family to me,” said Distefano. “I am honored at the opportunity they’ve given me and I can’t wait to bring these new projects to life! #ChrissyCentral.”

Chris Distefano: Size 38 Waist, his newest hourlong stand-up special, premieres January 18 at 11:00 p.m. ET/PT as part of Comedy Central’s Stand-Up Month.
