• Comedy duo Walsh Brothers take “planking” to a new level; let’s watch!

The argument can be made that an internet fad really goes viral when the comedy world takes notice and does its own version. Along these lines, “planking”, the act of taking pictures of people in a face down rigor mortis position in unusual places (like on top of a drive thru menu), has followed suit.

Originally started by a couple of 20 year olds in England, planking took off throughout the UK and Europe, and eventually became the celebration “dance” for an English Soccer Team. Now planking has found its way into the hands of LA based comedic duo of the Walsh Brothers. Wandering throughout all the tourist sites in Los Angeles, Chris and David Walsh and a few of their friends boldly and hysterically “plank” in and around buildings, people, and even cars. As “inanimate” as they are, the Walshes’ planking is just as ambitious as any of those “man on the street” bits that comedians so often do at Hollywood and Highland.

    Jake Kroeger

Jake Kroeger has dedicated his life, for better or probably worse, to comedy. Starting and continually running the Comedy Bureau, a voice for LA comedy, by himself, he also writes and performs stand-up comedy in LA and watches more live comedy than is probably humanly tolerable. He's been a daily contributor to Punchline Magazine, now Laughspin.com because he loves and believes in comedy so much. Said of Kroeger, "...without his dangerously insane, unhealthy work ethic, certain comics would not have any press at all."
