• David Letterman will be the host of ‘Late Show’ through 2015

David Letterman has just signed a new contract that will keep him as the host of Late Show through 2015 on CBS. The new deal will extend his record of the longest-working late night host; he surpassed Johnny Carson’s record in January as Letterman entered his thirty-first year as host. “I needed a little more time to fully run the show into the ground,” he said about the new contract. Letterman’s 21-year rival, Jay Leno, is set to hand over Tonight Show hosting duties to Jimmy Fallon this coming February, when the show will move to New York.
