The Donald J. Trump Presidential Twitter Library is headed even closer to President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago retreat. Trevor Noah and The Daily Show are bringing the critically-acclaimed library to Miami ahead of a week of live shows. The Daily Show with Trevor Noah will broadcast at the Jackie Gleason Theater in Miami from Monday, October 29 through Thursday, November 1 at 11:00 p.m. ET.
The Daily Show exhibit is a spoof on the presidential library, which is a nationwide network of 13 libraries that preserve and showcase the papers, records, and other historical materials of every American president since Franklin Roosevelt. This monument to tweets has toured Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Chicago since its unveiling last summer in New York City. Its debut in a 4,000-square-foot museum space—just steps from Trump Tower in midtown Manhattan—drew 7,500 visitors in just a single weekend.
Admission to the Miami exhibit is free and open to the public featuring visual installations and fully-interactive experiences. One such experience is Trump vs. Trump, an exhibit that documents “Trump’s unique ability to hold a variety of different opinions on the same subject,” according to a press release. The Commander-In-Tweet is the marquee attraction. Attendees walk into an Oval Office replica and have 30 seconds to respond to a crisis situation by composing a tweet while sitting on a golden toilet. Also on view is Sad! A Retrospective, Verified Survivors, and Masterworks.
The library received the Grand Prix award at the 2018 Cannes Lions International Festival, one of the most prestigious awards in the creative and marketing industry, and has even been turned into a keepsake book, The Donald J. Trump Presidential Twitter Library.
In addition to the week of shows in Miami, The Daily Show with Trevor Noah will also be broadcasting a Live Midterm Election Night episode titled, “Democalypse 2018: Let’s Try This Again, America” on Tuesday, November 6 from 11:00-11:30 p.m. ET on Comedy Central.
