• Exclusive preview from Godfrey’s new comedy album ‘Regular Black’ (Listen Now)

Veteran comedian Godfrey will drop a brand new stand-up comedy album Regular Black on Nov. 16 exclusively through Audible’s new Audible Channels platform. The follow up to his 2011 Comedy Central special Godfrey: Black By Accident, Godfrey’s Regular Black finds the energetic comic embedded firmly in his Chicago roots — though he was born in Nebraska! — and deftly bounding through race, ethnicity and the stereotypes that go along with those things.

To celebrate the release of Regular Black — which will enjoy a wide digital release wherever albums are sold on Dec 9 — we’re lovingly giving you an exclusive preview below.

Godfrey has appeared in “Zoolander,” “Johnson Family Vacation,” “The Cook Out” with Queen Latifah, “Phat Girlz” starring Monique, and “Soul Plane,” alongside Snoop Dogg. Godfrey is perhaps best known for his stint as the “7Up Guy” in the popular 7Up national ad campaign.

Godfrey has also made many television appearances including “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon,” and starred in his own one-hour special for Comedy Central, “Godfrey: Black By Accident.” He had a recurring role on FX’s “Louie,” and was a regular on “Shaquille O’Neal’s Upload” on TruTV.

Audible Channels is Audible’s new unlimited, advertising-free, on-demand listening service featuring comedy, news, entertainment, exclusive shows and more. Channels is available as a free benefit to Audible members, and can be purchased as a stand-alone offering for $4.95 a month.
