• Fox wants more John Mulaney and we can’t blame them!

Fox orders more John MulaneyJohn Mulaney’s eponymous Fox sitcom hasn’t even premiered yet and already it’s been picked up for 10 more episodes. Fox brass raised its initial order of Mulaney from six episodes to 16. The multi-camera comedy created by and starring the former Saturday Night Live writer has had a tumultuous journey making it to TV screens. The series was originally a pilot for NBC, who passed on the show last year despite the pilot’s popularity within the industry. Fox resurrected the project and picked it up with a straight-to-series six-episode order.

After shooting a new pilot episode and making some minor tweaks, many have been excited to see Mulaney on network television in his own show. Mulaney follows a rising stand-up comedian (played by Mulaney) trying to take his career to the next level and the friends and mentors who surround him. SNL chief Lorne Michaels serves as executive producer. Mulaney debuts this fall on Fox. Check out a clip from Mulaney’s latest stand-up comedy special New in Town.
