• Gallagher announces new radio gig: ‘We’re gonna smash America’ (Video)

In a shabbily-recorded video uploaded minutes ago, legendary watermelon-smashing comedian Gallagher announced that folks should tune in Monday morning to Over Breakfast with Scott Spears & Company, a radio show broadcast from Marion, OH, located about 50 miles north of Columbus. The reason you should listen is that Gallagher will be co-hosting the show from 6 to 9 am ET all week starting Monday.

“I want you to pay attention on Monday morning,” the 65-year-old says. “We’re going to do a lot more than smash a watermelon. We’re going to smash America, and I’m going to tell you how– because Ohio is the key to the Presidential Election.” If you’re anything like me, you have no idea what this means (the smashing America part, anyway). The full video is below.

In March, Gallagher suffered a heart attack before a performance in Lewisville, TX. In the hospital, doctors placed him under a medically induced coma to find out what was wrong with his heart, eventually placing two coronary stents inside him. After being released from the hospital he gave his first interview to Spears, announcing that he wold be retiring from the road and instead working on writing projects and taking to the Internet to stay in touch with his fans.

Two days later he suffered yet another heart attack and was hospitalized. The Texas heart attack came almost exactly one year after the comedian suffered heart a attack while onstage in Rochester, MN.

If you’re not in the Marion, OH area, you can listen to Over Breakfast online at radiomarion.com. Jesse Ventura will be a call-in guest on Monday.
