While we eagerly await the start of Community’s fourth season, without fearless and apparently difficult-to-work-with (if you’re a suit) Dan Harmon, some of our favorite faces from the NBC comedy have lined up some pretty sweet gigs.
Joel McHale (Jeff Winger on Community) has scored a multi-episode arc on the critically acclaimed FX drama Sons of Anarchy. He’ll be playing a con man named Warren. Gillian Jacobs (our favorite wannabe psychologist, Britta) will play Ken Marino’s wife in the upcoming comedy horror flick Milo (headed by Jay and Mark Duplass!), centered around Marino’s character who learns his severe stomach pains have been caused by a demon inside of him.
Finally, Jeong will reprise his role in the Hangover franchise. But this time, according to reports, he’ll have a lot more screen time. Though it’s not clear how exactly Todd Phillips and co. will justify Jeong’s screen time increase as minor character Leslie Chow, we do know that Jeong will have a little more trouble figuring out his big screen movie shooting schedule with his work on the Greendale campus.
Community returns to NBC on Friday, Oct.19 at 8:30 pm EST with new executive producers David Guarascio and Moses Port, who promise they’re not going to sanitize the show’s quirky nature. “A couple of months ago, we were a lot like you: just huge fans of the show who thought it was one of the most special things on television,” Guarascio said at the July 13 Community panel discussion at Comic-Con. “Suddenly we’re here, helping to keep it going. The only thing we care about is keeping it this weird, wonderful gem that it’s always been. That’s not gonna change.”
Let’s hope there’s no bait and switch going on here.
