Veteran comedian and trailblazing podcaster Marc Maron will return to IFC for a third season of his semi-autobiographical series Maron. Scheduled to return in the spring of 2015, production will begin this fall on 13 brand new episodes. “I am very proud of both seasons of the show and thrilled we’re doing another one,” Maron says. “Through all the episodes I can see the growth and evolution of the character, writing and comedy. I’m excited about getting back into the process. The character of Maron needs some work on and off screen and fortunately that’s what drives the show.”
The first two seasons of Maron have featured recurring appearances from Judd Hirsch (playing Marc’s dad), Sally Kellerman (Marc’s mom), Josh Brener (Marc’s assistant) and friends Andy Kindler and Dave Anthony. IFC promises the return of characters and more guest stars for season three of Maron. Past guest stars include Wyatt Cenac, David Cross, Johnny Knoxville, Conan O’Brien, Ray Romano, Sarah Silverman, Jeff Garlin, Gina Gershon, Bobcat Goldthwait, Denis Leary, Aubrey Plaza, Eric Stoltz and more.
“Usually Marc has a hard time maintaining long-term relationships, but luckily not with us,” says Jennifer Caserta, president of IFC. “He’s committed to bringing his wry humor and refreshing perspective back to IFC for a third season.”
