• Jenna Fischer’s pregnancy will be worked into “The Office”

Since the season finale of The Office (and Steve Carell’s departure) earlier this year, every cast member of the hit NBC show has been disappointingly tight-lipped about what’s to come for season eight. Sure, now we know Emmy giant James Spader has been cast as CEO of Sabre, Dunder Miflin’s parent company. But we want more info.

Luckily the sneaky sneaks at NY Mag’s Vulture got a great scoop. It turns out Jenna Fischer’s real-life pregnancy (her first) will be written into the new season. It’s true. Pam and Jim will be having their second child. Here’s what Fischer told Vulture:

Pam will be pregnant when the season starts. Pam and Jim snuck away last season on Valentine’s Day, and they had sex. The story is that they conceived this baby at that time and were keeping it a secret until we come back from the summer.

I was hoping for more of a immaculate conception-themed storyline, but ok. I guess unprotected sex on Valentine’s Day works, too.

In even bigger news, it seems a replacement has been chosen for Carell, but Fischer (naturally) is not allowed to spill the beans. We’ll just sit and wait, I guess.
