• Jim Jefferies renewed by Comedy Central; signs first look deal

    The Jim Jefferies Show is coming back to Comedy Central for Season 3 and the network has announced they will be doing even more content with Jim Jefferies himself. Comedy Central signed a first look deal with the Australian comedian for TV and digital content. The network released a trailer for the show’s third season, which premieres Tuesday, March 19 at 10:30 p.m. EST.

    The Jim Jefferies show will be taking a more global approach this season. Jefferies will travel to South Korea, Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong, Thailand, Australia, and South Africa to capture what is happening in the news all over the world. The first season of the weekly late night show earned a Writers Guild Award nomination in the Comedy/Variety Talk Series Category.

    “I love my unfiltered, insightful, hilarious and global comedic perspective on the insane world we’re living in right now,” boasted Jefferies. “I am excited for me to continue to connect with my audience through The Jim Jefferies Show and other future projects that I develop together.”

    Jim Jefferies commits to Comedy Central after long Netflix run

    While Jefferies did not disclose what he was developing for Comedy Central, the first look deal steals him away Netflix where’s dropped his last three hourlong specials—the last of which covered talked specifically about his poor business decisions. Laughspin ranked his most recent special Jim Jefferies: This Is Me Now number seven on out Top 20 Comedy Specials of 2018 list.

    Sarah Babineau and Jonas Larsen, Executive Vice Presidents and Co-Heads of Talent and Development at Comedy Central, said in a release, “We are excited for him to continue to connect with our audience through The Jim Jefferies Show and other future projects that we develop together.”
