• Joel McHale White House Correspondents’ Dinner Jokes Funnier Than Barack Obama’s? Watch Videos Of President And ‘Community’ Star At 2014 Nerd Prom (VIDEOS)

When we heard Joel McHale was speaking at the 2014 White House Correspondents’ Dinner, we knew we would be in for an evening of laughs. But we did not think the Community star would nearly get out-joked by the President himself!

Barack Obama took the stage first at the 2014 Nerd Prom, and he proved that he is not afraid to make fun of himself.

“In 2008 my slogan was, ‘Yes we can,’ in 2013 my slogan was ‘Control, Alt, Delete,”’ Barack Obama said.

Unsurprisingly, the disastrous early days of the Healthcare.gov website was another common joke subject at the 2014 White House Correspondents’ Dinner. At one point, Barack Obama claimed that the slow rollout inspired the hit Disney movie Frozen.

But perhaps Barack Obama’s best one-liner came at the expense of Fox News, which is known for its Republican agenda.

“Let’s face it, Fox, you’ll miss me when I’m gone,” Barack Obama said at the 2014 White House Correspondents’ Dinner. “It’ll be harder to convince the American people that Hillary [Clinton] was born in Kenya.”

And even overly-tan Speaker of the House John Boehner was not immune to Barack Obama’s jabs at the 2014 Nerd Prom

“These days, the House Republicans give John Boehner a harder time than me, which means that orange really is the new black,” Barack Obama stated.

Joel McHale thus had a tough act to follow at the 2014 White House Correspondents’ Dinner. But while most of Barack Obama’s jokes stuck to politics, the Soup host saved some of his best zingers for other celebrities.

“I know the Kardashians are Republicans, because they’re always trying to screw black people,” McHale said at Nerd Prom.

And like Barack Obama, Joel McHale made sure to mock the cable news networks. He particularly went after CNN, which has been criticized for its obsessive coverage of missing Malaysian flight MH370.

“100 years ago, CNN was only searching for the Wright Brothers plane … CNN is desperately searching for something that’s been missing for months: their dignity,” Joel McHale said at the 2014 White House Correspondents’ Dinner.

However, Joel McHale included plenty of political jokes in his Nerd Prom speech, as well.

“My favorite bit of yours was when you said you would close the detention facility at Guantanamo Bay – that was hilarious,” McHale said to the President.

And Barack Obama was not the only political target of Joel McHale’s Nerd Prom jabs. The comedian also made sure to mock New Jersey Governor Chris Christie’s infamous Bridgegate scandal.

“I’m sorry for that joke,” Joel McHale said after mocking Christie’s weight. “I didn’t know I was going to tell it … I was unaware it happened until just now. I’m appointing a blue ribbon commission of me to investigate the joke I just told.”
