• Julia Louis-Dreyfus poised to tie Lucille Ball’s record at the Emmys

With her nomination for Best Actress in a Comedy Series for HBO’s Veep, Dreyfus was nominated as a comedic actress in the lead and supporting categories 14 times. If she wins her fourth Emmy on Sunday, she will tie Lucille Ball for most comedic Emmys won. “It’s taken me decades, but I have finally avenged Lucille Ball. I am euphoric,” the actress said. The Veep star made Emmy history last year when she became the only actress who has three wins for three separate comedy shows— Veep, Seinfeld, and The New Adventures of Old Christine.

Watch the Emmys this Sunday to see if she ties the iconic I Love Lucy star. Even if she does, however, she’ll have more work to do to tie Betty White, Mary Tyler Moore and Candice Bergen, all of whom have snagged five Emmys each. White leads all the ladies in nominations with 16.
