• Kevin Hart and the Wayans brothers land new comedy shows at BET

Kevin Hart’s star continues to rise, branching out from the world of stand-up comedy and landing securely in the world of movies and most recently television. The record-breaking comedian has just inked a deal to star in a new sitcom for BET, titled House Husbands, a show based on a series of sketches The Real House Husbands of Beverly Hills, which aired during last year’s BET Awards (see episode one below).

However, it’s not clear whether the original co-stars Anthony Anderson, Nick Cannon, Bobby Brown and Nelly will appear on the semi-scripted series. Hart will next be seen in the movie Think Like A Man – out in theaters April 20 – based on a book written by fellow comedian Steve Harvey.

In other BET news, it turns out Keenan Ivory Wayans isn’t the only Wayans working on new television projects. His brother Marlan is co-executive producing Second Generation Wayans for the network, which is set to star Craig and Damien Dante Wayans, who will also co-write the series. Also, starring is George O. Gore II, who you’ll remember from his role as the oldest brother on ABC’s My Wife and Kids, which starred Damon Wayans.

The show will center around “the good, the funny and the ugly as the young trio emerges from the long shadows of their uncles to carve out their own paths to stardom in Hollywood,” according to BET.
