Kurt Braunohler and Cedric the Entertainer are coming to CBS. The eyeball network is developing Dad Vs. Father, a multi-camera comedy, about new parents Karl and Leanne who move in with Karl’s deadbeat dad—and all of the family drama that comes with him. An older father of two 14-year-old girls, the father and son find themselves in competition to prove who is the better father.
Braunohler and Cedric the Entertainer will both executive produce, with Braunohler also serving as writer.
The writer-comedian comes off the tails of starring in the Oscar-nominated movie The Big Sick and releasing his hour-long Comedy Central special Trust Me last year. He’s set to guest star in the upcoming Showtime comedy Black Monday.
Cedric the Entertainer is already starring in his own CBS comedy The Neighborhood opposite New Girl’s Max Greenfield. The show has taken well with audiences as the network just extended the show to a full-season order. The ‘original king of comedy’ can also be seen with Tracy Morgan in The Last O.G. on TBS. He also has a couple of movie roles announced in pre-production.
No word yet on casting or if either Braunohler or Cedric the Entertainer will have on-camera roles in the comedy.
