• Lewis Black, Bill Burr, DL Hughley and more to play Laughfest; tickets on sale Nov. 30

When Laughfest hits Grand Rapids, MI this coming March, it will mark the 10-day festival’s third installment, yet it’s wise beyond its years. Having already welcomed some of the biggest names in comedy (think Bill Cosby, Betty White, Jim Gaffigan) into the close-knit city during its first two colossal efforts, organizers this year had the challenge of producing an event to meet the comedy world’s expectations. And judging by those who will descend upon the Midwest from March 7 – 17, they’ve met and exceeded those expectations.

Lewis Black, Bill Burr, Jim Breuer, D.L. Hughley, Joel McHale, Wayne Brady, Bruce Bruce and Brian Regan are scheduled to appear at the festival, organized by Gilda’s Club of Grand Rapids, one of the many national chapters, which lends a physical space where cancer patients and their friends and families can go for support. The monies raised from the festival goes back into Gilda’s Club and related programming throughout the year.

In addition to the aforementioned talent, Laughfest will also welcome the likes of musical comedy duo Garfunkel and Oates, Gary Valentine, Loni Love, W. Kamau Bell, Pete Holmes, Jackie Kashian, Pete Lee, Eric Andre and Neal Brennan.

Like they’ve done the past two years, Laughfest will hold the Best of the Midwest Competition (full lineup here), where the winner gets $2,500– as well as the hugely popular $10,000 national stand-up competition, which will feature Al Jackson, Andew Schulz, Brendon Walsh, Cy Amundson, James Adomian, Jamie Lee, Julian McCullough, Mary Lynn Rajskub, Mike Winfield and Ron Funches.

For a full list of performers, you’ll want to check out laughfestgr.org. Additional performers and events will be announced in the coming weeks. You’ll be able to purchase ticket packages starting this Friday, Nov. 30 (ticket package options here). Regular ticket sales will be available on a date to be announced.
