• Louis C.K., Archer, Mike Birbiglia, more win big in Laughspin Readers’ Choice Awards

We’d like to thank our dedicated readers for participating in our year-end readers’ poll. Voting ended last night and with that come the results, which have been summarized below– complete with a few colorful pie charts! If you’d like to see the full list of categories and nominees, go here. If not, just continue below and enjoy! Thanks again, everyone.

For the second year in a row, Louis C.K. has proven a favorite among readers of Laughspin, as he snagged the number one spot in our favorite stand-up category as well as top honors for his show Louie in our Favorite Comedy Show category with 18.6 percent and 22.8 percent of readers’ votes, respectively. His show’s network, FX also proved our readers’ favorite place to watch comedy with 25.8 percent of the vote; Comedy Central placed second with 19.3 percent and NBC rounded out the top three with 16.6 percent of the vote.

But C.K. wasn’t the only comedian with high likeability. Tig Notaro snagged second place with 8.6 percent of the vote while Bill Burr placed third with 7.5 percent. If the percentages seem low, it’s because we nominated so many comics—37 in total. Check out the pie chart for more info.

Of the 29 comedy shows nominated, the two that Laughspin readers love almost as much as Louie are a pair of NBC single-camera joints: Parks and Recreation (14.9 percent) and Community (10.5 percent). FX cult favorite It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia came in fourth with 7 percent of the vote, handily beating out mainstream hits like Modern Family (4.5 percent) and Big Bang Theory (3.9 percent). Readers’ love of Sunny no doubt factored in to FX winning the gold for comedy programming. Your love for Archer – the winner of the Favorite Animated Comedy Show category and another FX series – helped as well.

With 19.7 percent of the vote (12 shows were nominated), Archer topped the list of favorite animated series. South Park and Bob’s Burgers landed in second and third places with 16.3 percent and 15.8 percent, respectively. Your favorite late night show is They Daily Show with Jon Stewart (24.5 percent of the vote), followed by Conan (17.8 percent) and The Colbert Report (14.6 percent). Reggie Watts is your favorite musical comedian with 20.5 percent of the vote; Garfunkel and Oates took second with 15.8 percent and veteran comedy rockers Tenacious D rounded out the top three with 11.2 percent of the vote.

WTF with Marc Maron snagged top honors for readers’ favorite comedy podcast with 16.9 percent of the vote. You Made it Weird with Pete Holmes and Comedy Bang Bang tied for second place with 8.2 percent of the vote, while Walking the Room with Dave Anthony and Greg Behrendt came in third with 8.1 percent of the vote. Thirty-eight podcasts were nominated. Your favorite new comedy podcasts are Call Chelsea Peretti (22.1 percent of the vote), Nerd Poker with Brian Posehn (17 percent) and Making It with Riki Lindhome (8.6 percent). And your favorite podcast network: Nerdist (30.2 percent of the vote), Earwolf (22.4 percent) and All Things Comedy (13.9 percent).

In the Favorite Comedy Site category (sites in which humorous content is king), The Onion came out on top with an impressive 28.1 percent of the total vote. Funny Or Die came in second with 21.2 percent and Cracked snagged third place with 11.6 percent. Sixteen sites were nominated. And not surprisingly, your favorite funny person on Twitter is Rob Delaney who edged out Patton Oswalt’s 9.9 percent of the vote with 10.7 percent. Rounding out the top three is Jocelyn Plums (aka @FilthyRichmond) with 6.3 percent of the total vote.

And last, but certainly not least, Laughspin readers’ favorite comedy movie of 2012 is Mike Birbiglia’s Sleepwalk with Me. The indie flick – one of 29 nominees – snagged 12.4 percent of the vote, edging out 21 Jump Street with 11.7 percent and Wes Anderson’s Moonrise Kingdom with 10.3 percent.

Tell us what you think of the results in the comments section. Just follow our ongoing rule: don’t be a jerk. Hooray!
