Man arrested for double stabbing at Baltimore comedy club, Aries Spears not pleased

Baltimore police have arrested a man for stabbing two security guards at a comedy club Sunday night. According to reports, Kenneth Corporal and his friends had a dispute over their bill at the Baltimore Comedy Factory. The club’s bouncers attempted to escort Corporal, 21, out of the club when he allegedly turned and stabbed them.

Corporal took off on foot and was chased down and arrested by Baltimore police officers. He was charged with four counts of assult and two counts of possesion of a dangerous weapon with intent to injure. The young Baltimore man has a history of violent behavior, having been arrested for domestic violence, destruction of property, resisting arrest and second-degree assault, most recently in February.

Aries Spears, who performed at the club that evening, was shocked. He tweeted that evening that in over 20 years of stand-up, “I’ve never worked a club were[sic] the bouncers get stabbed n da club!”

Both security guards were taken to local hospitals where they were treated and released for non-life-threatening injuries. Laughspin‘s request for comments from the club were not immediately returned.

Spears was disappointed with the way the violence reflected on the black community in Baltimore, Tweeting out:

The event comes about a week after a stand-up comedian was arrested for assaulting a journalist in a DC comedy club after reading the patron’s less-than-enthusiastic tweets about his act.
