• Meet Pete Davidson, Saturday Night Live’s newest addition

Comedian Pete Davidson has just become the newest member of Saturday Night Live. Hand-picked by SNL honcho Lorne Michaels to join the 40th season of the iconic sketch show, Davidson now has the opportunity to greatly build on his already growing following in the New York comedy scene.

In addition to touring nationally – he’s scheduled to appear at the Arlington Draft House in Virginia on Sept. 27 and 27 – Davidson has been seen on MTV2’s Guy Code, Fox’s Emmy-winning series Brooklyn Nine-Nine and Nick Cannon’s Wild ‘N Out. Cannon, who also cast the Staten Island native in his movie School Dance, has been mentoring Davidson ever since discovering him in New York City comedy clubs.

The new season of Saturday Night Live premieres Sept. 27. The anniversary season will also feature a new Weekend Update co-host— fellow New York comic Michael Che, who once wrote for Saturday Night Live but left to become a correspondent on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. Less than five months as a Comedy Central employee, however, Che was wooed back to SNL and will now host Weekend Update with Colin Jost.
