• Miracle Workers with Steve Buscemi as God drops first trailer (VIDEO)

I have no doubt in my mind that Bible-thumpin’ holly rollers will lob nothing but complaints toward the makers of Miracle Workers as soon as TBS premieres it on Feb. 12. They should, however, find solace in the number of episodes slated for the new comedy series — seven! — which I’ve heard is the foundation of God’s word. Or something.

Based on author Simon Rich’s 2012 novel What in God’s Name, Miracle Workers finds Steve Buscemi as God. This God, if you can even begin to believe it, is the type of God that doesn’t seem to give a shit. In fact, it seems this God is bent on destroying the world. Hey, at least he’s motivated to do something. Luckily (or unluckily, depending on your current opinion on human existence), God has two entry-level angels — Daniel Radcliffe (also a co-executive producer) and Geraldine Viswanathan — who desperately attempt to convince God to maybe not kill everyone. In order to stop Earth’s obliteration, Radcliffe and Viswanathan set out to prove to God they can make two seemingly incompatible people fall in love.

You’ll see in the first trailer released by TBS that Buscemi’s God is all but a little distracted by the less-important things in life. Check it out and let us know if you’ll tune in to the first episode. Or will you continue to be a huge disappointment to God?
