• Miss USA Rima Fakih to make her stand-up comedy debut

Compared to the average Miss USA (if there is such a thing) Rima Fakih has proved a colorful character since her crowning in 2010. The native of Lebanon appeared on the reality series WWE Tough Enough (where folks compete to become professional wrestlers); she’s appeared in a film called Throbbing Justice (best title ever) and she played herself in that Hugh Jackman movie about fighting robots last year. Oh, and she gained some Hollywood celeb cred when she was snagged for a DUI just last month!

And now, poor gorgeous dear must be getting antsy, because it seems this week she’s trying to be a stand-up comedian. She’ll make her live stand-up debut tomorrow at the Laugh Factory in Hollywood, where she’ll be hosting the venue’s weekly Comedy Bazaar show, which features Middle Eastern comics.

“We are looking forward to her stand-up comedy debut at the Laugh Factory,” Laugh Factory founder Jamie Masada says. “Miss Fakih has a great sense of humor and outspoken personality that will change people’s perception of Arab Americans in the states.”

I’m sure tomorrow’s debut will be the start of a long, fruitful and trailblazing career in stand-up comedy for Fakih.
