Modern Family is paying for all weddings in NYC todayModern Family is ready to help New York City couples start their own family. NBC announced on Good Morning America that the Emmy Award-winning sitcom, which was recently renewed for a sixth season, will cover the cost of all marriage licenses and wedding ceremonies today at the New York City Clerk’s office (141 Worth Street, New York, NY). The generous gesture is in part to celebrate the on-screen engagement of Mitchell and Cameron (played by Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Eric Stonestreet, respectively). The progressive comedy has become a nationwide favorite, addressing many issues that families face in the ever-evolving American home model.

“It’s a rare opportunity you get as actors. You never think of that when you’re out there auditioning for different parts in TV shows and not getting them, and then to finally get a gig like this that is really…having social impact, cultural impact.” For you New York couples hoping to take advantage of the offer, get that dress or tux on quickly! The city clerk’s office closes at 3:45pm!
