MTV2’s newest comedic game show, Joking Off will hit the airwaves on April 1 (No April Fools joke here!) and when it does, it is set to give the Internet what it deserves — a good, thorough Who’s Line Is It Anyway inspired belittling. Hosted by stand-up comedian and “Wild ‘N Out” regular DeRay Davis, the half-hour broadcast follows three teams of two as they compete in improv games based on popular social media memes, tweets, Instagram images and videos.
“This show celebrates the most ridiculous aspects of social media,” said Paul Ricci, Head of Development and Production for MTV2. “Watching these talented comics and improv gurus target the most roast-worthy gifs, pictures, videos and profiles is hilarious.”
Featured games include “Ok Stupid,” where performers make up dating interests inspired by fake profiles on the show’s ‘Ok Cupid’ parody dating site, “Textify,” in which scenes are created out of awkward text conversations and “If They Could Talk,” a game in which the comics create dialogue from funny animal videos.
The winning team then splits off and competes head-to-head in a prank call contest, “Call You Out,” to decide the one comedian to rule them all. Series regulars will include Dave Ebert, Desus & Mero, James Davis, Matt Pavich, James Manziello, Kristen Acimovich, Liza Treyger, Matteo Lane and Mike Camerlengo with guest appearances by Charlamagne, Timothy DeLaGhetto, Lil Duval, Jon Gabrus, Tanisha Long, Donnell Rawlings, Chris Distefano, Damien Lemon, Jordan Carlos, Monroe Martin, Shalyah Evans, Mike Winfield, Stephen Guarino, Awkwafina and Mac Lethal.
Joking Off premieres at 11 p.m. ET/PT on MTV2. Check out a preview below!
