NBC renews ‘Parks and Recreation’ and ‘Up All Night’

By last night, we knew both 30 Rock and Community had been renewed for new, albeit shortened, seasons. We still didn’t know about Parks and Recreation and The Office— or Up All Night and Whitney, for that matter.

Well, now we know Parks and Recreation and Up All Night will officially return. Parks and Rec — starring Amy Poehler, Nick Offerman, Rashida Jones, Adam Scott, Retta, Aziz Ansari, Aubrey Plaza, Rob Lowe, Chris Pratt and Jim O’Heir — is entering its fifth season, having aired its season four finale last night, while Up All Night — starring Christina Applegate, Will Arnett and Maya Rudolph — will return for its second season, according to the Hollywood Reporter. There’s no word on how many episodes the network has ordered.

And, we still don’t know about The Office, but seeing as well-respected outlets have reported John Krasinski, Jenna Fischer and Ed Helms are finalizing their new contracts, we have to believe that means the show will return. Also, there’s no work on whether comedian Whitney Cummings show Whitney will get a second season.

UPDATE: 3:22 pm EST: TVLine reports NBC had renewed Whitney for a second season. Also, they report that Up All Night will come back for 13 episodes while Parks and Recreation will roll out 22 new episodes.
