New George Carlin album in the works (Exclusive)

George CarlinOn the heels of the New York City Council’s decision to rename a city street after the late, legendary George Carlin, Laughspin hears there may be a new George Carlin album released in the coming months—not to mention a totally revamped Details are sparse right now, but Laughspin will have more news soon.

An album of previously unreleased material would be the ultimate get for Carlin fans. In the meantime, if you need a Carlin fix, you can always tune into on SiriusXM’s 24-hour George Carlin channel Carlin’s Corner (Channel 400). And that’s also where you can hear The Kelly Carlin Show. A new episode with guest Russell Peters airs Sunday, July 6 at 7 pm ET. Past guests include Robin Williams, Lewis Black, Eddie Izzard, Jeff Garlin, Paul Reiser, Jay Mohr, Chris Hardwick, Kevin Pollack, Paul Provenza, Paul F. Tompkins, Dana Gould, Robert Klein and Dave Attell. Carlin’s Corner boasts a 24/7 stream of Carlin audio; he shares the distinction of having an entire channel dedicated to him with musical icons like Elvis and Bruce Springsteen.

Kelly’s upcoming autobiography comes out in 2015. During his life, Carlin filmed 14 HBO specials between 1977 and 2008 and released 19 original albums, five of which snagged Grammys. Carlin died of heart failure in Los Angeles after being admitted to the hospital for chest pains. He was 71.
