Nick Cannon, Jim Belushi headed for new network sitcoms

Two big stories have just popped up in the TV sitcom world today, and I am cautiously optimistic regarding one. One of the shows I have been looking forward to this Fall is Up All Night; starring Will Arnett, Christina Applegate and Maya Rudolph. The show centers around a couple with a new baby who struggle to keep their sanity. But because those three aren’t fabulous enough someone has included Nick Cannon in the cast. Apparently he will play Rudolph’s co-host on a talk show that Applegate produces. Don’t worry, you guys, his reality TV hosting gig won’t be endangered here.

Have you missed Jim Belushi since According to Jim finished its run after eight seasons? Well take a seat and be excited because Belushi has landed at ABC Studios after a bidding war for a new sitcom he’s developing with Diane English (creator of Murphy Brown). The show will be set around a single father and the wacky situations surrounding him and his teenager, and though the pairing between he and English seems a bit out of nowhere, it’s likely to be a winning combo.
