Odell Beckham Jr. One-Handed Touchdown Catch Against Dallas Cowboys Goes Viral, Leads To Amazing Internet Memes

It’s been nearly 24 hours since Odell Beckham Jr.’s incredible catch against the Dallas Cowboys nearly broke the Internet. Yet people are still talking about the New York Giants star’s amazing feat of athleticism.

The rookie wide receiver out of LSU became an overnight sensation with his 43-yard touchdown catch on Sunday Night Football. The play went viral even though the Giants loss to their NFC East rival. In case you were somehow living under a rock and haven’t seen the Odell Beckham Jr. TD catch yet, you can check it below.

“I’m happy people think so much of the catch but I hope it’s not the greatest catch of all time,” the 22-year-old Beckham said after the game. “I hope I can make more like it.”

Even Odell Beckham Jr.’s opponents were impressed by his amazing catch.

“That catch, is outstanding,” Cowboys stud receiver Dez Bryant said of Odell Beckham Jr. “ … You got to give it to him, for real. He’s one of those guys, ‘hey, I want to make a play.’ Hat’s off to him. I respect playmakers and he’s a playmaker. I just don’t like when he does it to us.”

So naturally, Odell Beckham Jr.’s catch inspired a host of hilarious Twitter memes. Some noted just how shocked the Internet was to see the crazy touchdown.

Other memes, meanwhile, predicted what other items Odell Beckham Jr. could catch in similar fashion. According to the Internet, the receiver could stop the spread of Ebola and stop The Lion King’s Mufasa from certain death.

Many of these Odell Beckham Jr. catch memes made references to other famous sporting events. Twitter claimed that Beckham could have saved Steve Bartman from cursing the Chicago Cubs and spared Boston Red Sox’ first baseman Bill Buckner from infamy. He also could have caught 50 Cent’s hilariously awful first pitch.

But our favorite Odell Beckham Jr. catch meme made reference to the best Looney Tunes basketball film of all time, Space Jam.

Even Odell Beckham Jr. himself got involved in the catch meme fun, retweeting one image that showed him dunking over NBA star LeBron James.

James, for his part, was also impressed with Odell Beckham Jr.’s catching skills, a compliment  the wide receiver appreciated.
