Comedian Ron White announced his new special premiering on Netflix October 16 via his Twitter today. The special, titled If You Quit Listening, I’ll Shut Up, will be the first special White has released since 2012’s A Little Unprofessional, his first with the streaming giant.
A veteran comedian with over 30 years of on-stage experience, White might be remembered best for his infamous alias “Tater Salad.” White toured as part of the Blue Collar Comedy Tour along with Jeff Foxworthy, Bill Engvall, and Larry the Cable Guy. The tour was so popular it sold out in 90 cities and grossed over $15 million. Since the Blue Collar Comedy Tour, White has released five solo specials and has appeared in TV and movies such as Reno 911! and Horrible Bosses. White was also nominated for a Grammy Award for his album, A Little Unprofessional.
White is known for drinking and smoking cigars on stage as part of his act. Fans will be excited to see a bottle of tequila on the stool next to him in the teaser video, keeping up his signature style. If You Quit Listening, I’ll Shut Up will tackle everything from bedwetting to building a net to keeping out Canadian geese.
The @NetflixIsAJoke Twitter account (yes, that’s an official Netflix account) retweeted White’s tweet announcing the special and a teaser. There is also a slightly longer trailer that can be viewed on Netflix as well.
