Saturday Night Live app features 5,500 sketches

NBC aired its Saturday Night Live 40th anniversary special last night and to get people excited the network launched a special SNL app! The new app, now available for Apple iOS with an Android version coming soon, is a free app with more than 300 hours of comedy from about 5,500 sketches from the long-running sketch comedy series. In addition to the old school material, NBC’s SNL app will update with new digital-exclusive content throughout the current season. “We’re proud to partner with Lorne [Michaels] on a unique, digital experience,” said Robert Hayes, an NBC Entertainment executive. If thousands of old Saturday Night Live sketches aren’t enough, the app will also include an emoji keyboard featuring 60 icons users can use in their text messages with friends. Because sometimes, you’re just feeling so Gilly.
