• Seth Rogen leads nominees for revived American Comedy Awards

After seeing people win Emmys, Globes and Oscars, the comedy community will once again get to see the country’s funniest performers accept a “Lucy” on stage! Nominations for the newly-resurrected American Comedy Awards have been announced. NBC announced it would bring back the awards show “to honor all forms of comedy.” The ACA ran from 1987 to 2000 on ABC. Before being discontinued, a final edition was aired on Comedy Central in 2001. The statues were called Lucy’s after the death of Lucille Ball, although it has not been announced if the new ACA producers will honor that tradition.

Although it is not known how they determine the nominees, their choices are certainly more representative of comedic talent than the Hollywood Foreign Press Association’s nominees for the Golden Globes. Voting for all 19 categories is open to the public and can be done so via the awards’ official website or on their Facebook page. Check out the nominees below and cast your vote before March 18! The American Comedy Awards air on NBC on May 15 at 9pm EST.
