Sofia Vergara is the highest paid television actress for the third consecutive year. This, according to Forbes, who just released its annual lists of the highest paid television actors and actresses. What’s more compelling, however, is that Vergara is not just the highest paid female in television, but the highest paid television star overall. The Modern Family star banked $37 million from June 2013 to June 2014 while television’s highest paid actor, Ashton Kutcher (Two And A Half Men) earned $26 million.
Vergara makes a reported $325,000 per episode, the same amount as the rest of the main cast of Modern Family. It’s Vergara’s lucrative endorsement deals that make her the bulk of her money. Vergara is currently pitching brands like Diet Pepsi, CoverGirl, Head & Shoulders and even a medication called Synthroid, which treats enlarged thyroids and thyroid cancer.
The comedy star beats out Law & Order: SVU star Mariska Hargitay, who comes in second on the Forbes list with $13 million, slightly more than a third of what Vergara made. Big Bang Theory star Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting comes in at third with $11 million. Other comedy stars on the Forbes list include How I Met Your Mother’s Cobie Smulders (No. 4 at $10 million), HIMYM’s Alyson Hannigan (No. 5 at $9.5 million), Parks and Recreation‘s Amy Poehler (No. 6 at $7 million), Mindy Kaling (No. 7 at $6.5 million), New Girl‘s Zooey Deschanel (No. 8 at $6 million), Cougar Town‘s Courteney Cox (No. 8 at $6 million, tied with Deschanel) and Girls star Lena Dunham (No. 10 at $3.5 million).
