Podcasting pioneer and comedian Adam Carolla’s new Spike TV gig hosting Catch A Contractor seems to be working out well. The network has renewed the show for a 10-episode second season. Catch A Contractor follows Carolla, who worked as a carpenter before his Man Show days, helping homeowners who have been cheated by shady construction contractors. He catches people who financially take advantage of clients or leave homes totally unfinished. Think Extreme Makeover: Home Edition meets To Catch A Predator. Along with contractor Skip Bedell and his wife, investigator Alison Bedell (pictured), Carolla hunts down these scammers and makes them finish the job right. Catch A Contractor has averaged 1.2 million viewers after seven episodes. Spike TV has also extended the show from a half-hour to a full hour program. His last home improvement show, The Adam Carolla Project, only lasted one season on TLC in 2005 and The Car Show aired for just one year on Speed TV back in 2011. When not confronting sketchy contractors, the 49-year old continues to host The Adam Carolla Show podcast, one of the most downloaded podcasts of all time. Check out a clip from Catch A Contractor below and be sure to tune this Sunday for two new episodes starting at 10 pm ET on Spike TV.
