    Family Ties creator Gary David Goldberg dies at 68

    After a long battle with brain cancer, Gary David Goldberg, the Emmy-award winning creator of the iconic comedy series Family Ties, died this morning at the age of 68, two days before his birthday. In addition to Family Ties, which launched the career of Michael J. Fox, Goldberg also worked on The Bob Newhart Show, M*A*S*H and Lou Grant and was the co-creator of Spin City, which also starred Fox.
