• Third installment of Michael Moore’s comedy fest canceled due to beer event

Usually, beer and comedy go together like peas and carrots, but apparently not in Traverse City, Michigan. The Traverse City Comedy Arts Festival, founded in 2010, won’t be happening this year due to a scheduling conflict with the Traverse City Winter Microbrew and Music Festival. The beer fest is slated to go down Feb. 10-11, which would have overlapped with the comedy festival. Founder Michael Moore (yes, that Michael Moore)

Video interview: Lisa Landry at Laugh Fest

Earlier today over a nice little brunch provided by the Laugh Fest folks, I chatted with comedian Lisa Landry, who landed on our Top 10 Comedy Albums list in 2008. So, when I first heard a few months ago about a new comedy festival Gilda’s LaughFest taking place in the aforementioned town, I was a bit skeptical. I was wrong to feel that way. These laugh wranglers have their shit together. The 10-day
