• The revamped In Living Color: Meet the first four cast members (Videos)

We reported in October of last year that Fox was re-launching groundbreaking sketch comedy series In Living Color, which originally aired on the network from 1990 – 1994. Since that time, Fox and comedy club The Laugh Factory held open auditions to help fill out the new cast. And I use the word “cast” loosely, because really what we’re talking about here is two half-hour special presentations of In Living Color, produced by its creator Keenan Ivory Wayans.

The show isn’t actually coming back. Although, I can’t imagine that these two episodes – expected to air in May – are not unofficial “test runs” for a proper full season of the show. I won’t be surprised if there’s a much bigger announcement in, say, June. Regardless, a few cast members have been revealed.

So far, the revamped show will feature Jermaine Fowler, Jennifer Bartels (both pictured above), Lil Rel Howery and Kali Hawk. Despite a recent online report, I can confirm that comedian Henry Cho has not been cast.

Fowler is a touring stand-up comedian. Hawk has a recurring role as Shelby on New Girl (another Fox show) and had small parts in Bridesmaids and Get Him to the Greek. Chicago-based Howery is a stand-up who’s been seen on Last Comic Standing and Martin Lawrence’s showcase show on Starz, 1st Amendment Standup. Bartels has a BFA in theater, is a regular performer at the Upright Citizens Brigade in New York and has been seen in television spots for Jet Blue, Target, Tide and more.

You can check out Bartels and the others in action, below.
