Tina Fey is getting closer to finally putting comedian Fortune Feimster on network television. ABC ordered a pilot for Family Fortune starring Feimster. ABC was previously developing the comedy project from Tina Fey who attempted to get the Feimster-led Cabbot College on Fox last year. Family Fortune is based on the former Chelsea Lately panelist’s family life in North Carolina. She plays a popular gym teacher who comes out of the closet to her close-knit group of friends and family. Tina Fey, along with Matt Hubbard and Robert Carlock, serve as executive producer.
ABC also ordered a pilot for an Uncle Buck reboot. The show is similar to the movie in that it centers on a childish man who learns how to be an adult by taking care of his brother’s kids. The late John Candy played Uncle Buck in the 1989 original. Uncle Buck grossed nearly $80 million when it hit the big screen. CBS adapted the film to series in 1990 starring Kevin Meaney, but it only lasted one season.
