• Trailer for Jon Stewart’s first movie ‘Rosewater’ is here! (Video)

Jon Stewart’s directorial debut Rosewater now has a trailer to go along with its recently-announced Nov. 7 release date. The film began its festival run at the Telluride Film Festival before making its way to the Toronto International Film Festival in September just as it debuted its first official poster. Rosewater is an adaptation of BBC journalist Maziar Bahari’s book Then They Came For Me: A Family’s Story of Love, Captivity And Survival. While covering a heated Iranian presidential election in 2009, Bahari was arrested, interrogated and tortured by a group led by a man calling himself “Rosewater”. Stewart took time off from his regular hosting duties at The Daily Show with Jon Stewart to direct the feature and fans will finally get to see a different form of the comedian’s creative expression. Stewart said in an interview, “I hope people view [the film] for what it is — a love letter to expression and the importance of it. It’s everything.” Are you excited to see Rosewater?
