• TV Guide Network will launch an all-woman stand-up comedy series hosted by Kate Flannery

Known for her portrayal as lovable, horny, weirdo Meredith Palmer on The Office, Kate Flannery will now headline her own show— a weekly stand-up comedy showcase for TV Guide Network.

But here’s the twist: The show will feature only female comedians performing material about women. Standup in Stilettos will premiere June 16 at 10 pm ET and will run 10 half-hour episodes in the following weeks. “StandUp in Stilettos and will offer viewers fresh comedy programming with some of the best-known celebrities in Hollywood today, as well as up-and-coming talent,” says Allen Shapiro, chairman of TV Guide Network

What do you guys think of this? Is this a good way to showcase female comedians? Or does it further drive a wedge between men and women in stand-up? Sound off in the comments section!
