• Video: Behind the scenes in Wyoming as “Modern Family” shoots its season three premiere

As if this Wednesday’s one-hour season three premiere of ABC’s Modern Family wasn’t already highly anticipated, the show went out and snagged itself five Emmys last night, including the award for best comedy series, beating out The Office, Glee, Big Bang Theory, 30 Rock and Parks and Recreation. No doubt, the few mainstream television viewers who weren’t already planning on tuning in to the progressive comedy, now have plans to do so. In addition to the big best comedy show Emmy, both Ty Burell and Julie Bowen earned best supporting actor and actress awards; Steven Levitan and Jeffrey Richman won for best writing in a comedy series and Michael Spiller won for directing.

So in preparation for Wednesday’s premiere, which goes down at 9 pm ET — we wanted to share this cool behind-the-scenes featurette, wherein we see the cast and crew filming in gorgeous Jackson Hole, Wyoming for the episode, titled “Dude Ranch.”

The network describes the first episode like this:

In the first part of the hour, entitled “Dude Ranch” our favorite family decide to don their cow boots and hats and head to Jackson Hole, Wyoming for some fun and adventure in the great outdoors. While vacationing on Lost Creek Ranch, they try their hands at a little cattle herding, skeet shooting and horseback riding; there are also some big firsts, a huge surprise and an actual face off between Jay and a foe – a cowboy named Hank!

So, on a scale of one to 10, how excited are you for the season premiere of Modern Family?
